Veridian CU Awards $35,000 in Community Grants

WATERLOO, Iowa – Veridian CU yesterday said it provided nine local organizations a total of $35,000 under its annual Inclusive Community Grant program.
 
Among the winners are: Advisory for a Better Future Fund to finance its Bus Shelter project for mentally or physically disabled students; Family & Children’s Council of Black Hawk County for its Healthy Babies program; NAMI Black Hawk County for programs to aid the mentally disabled and their families; and North Star Community Services for its Inclusive Theatre project financing theatre for adults with disabilities.
 
Other winners are: Seeds of Hope for its project to help victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence who do not speak English; Young Parents Network of Cedar Rapids for an early childhood program; Children & Families of Iowa for its Family Violence Center; Citizens for Community Improvement for homeownership education and Iowa Legal Aid for its low-income taxpayer clinic.
