The bid would allow the $900 million credit union toserve the region surrounding Virginia Beach and all the way southcovering eight rural counties in neighboring North Carolina,including the Outer Banks beach resort. Total population requestedof almost two million people would far exceed the 1.4 millionsurrounding Virginia Beach that Portsmouth-based Northern Star CUwas approved to serve last month.
