NORFOLK, Va. – A federal court jury on Monday convicted a local of a dozen armed robberies or attempted robberies at credit unions and banks last year, including two at shared branches in nearby Portsmouth and Chesapeake.

The jury found that Leonard Roulhac, 39, was the man behind the dark mask and sunglasses who robbed, or tried to rob, a dozen banks and credit unions in a six-month period that ended last May when an off-duty police officer chased Roulhac into Suffolk following the last armed robbery.
Roulhac was identified by some of the tellers in part by a unique mole on his face that they could see in video surveillance footage of the robber.
