RICHMOND, Va. – Henrico FCU was granted a broad community expansion by NCUA yesterday that will allow the $120 million credit union to serve more than 1.2 million residents surrounding the state’s capitol, one of the biggest community charters approved by NCUA this year.
The expanded field of membership will allow the credit union, which current serves a population of 300,000, to cover 16 counties surrounding the Capitol and the city of Richmond.
The credit union was chartered in 1967 to serve employees of Henrico County and converted in 2002 to a community charter serving Henrico County.
