SAN FRANCISCO - (06/01/06) -- Visa USA announced Wednesday it isfinally integrating its Plus ATM network with its corepoint-of-sale transaction network. The integration means alltransactions over one million Plus ATMs will be processed over thecompany's VisaNet authorization system and will allow Visa'sAdvanced Authorization fraud detection system to be used for allPlus ATM transactions. Advanced Authorization will providereal-time fraud intelligence on every Plus transaction, providing arating on each transaction's potential for fraud. Previously ATMtransactions were not scored by the Advanced Authorization system.The combination of the two systems is part of an eventual plan byVisa to phase out the separate Plus processing platform. Visaacquired the Plus system in 1994.
