REXBURG, Idaho – Motorists and passers-by will get a glimpse of the benefits of membership in Beehive FCU in an unusual way – on the side of a 10-foot long 1972 Volkswagen Beetle limousine.
The $150 million credit union unwrapped the rare auto at its annual company meeting Thursday night. It will use the red-and-white “Beehive Bug” to advertise promotions during its 50th anniversary celebration this year.
Beehive has been working with local auto detailers to restore the car, which was purchased from a Utah auto collector, and have it wrapped with the company colors, logo and slogans.
“Every time we drive down the road with this, heads turn, and we see smiles, so we’re excited and pleased with the reaction so far,” said Craig Cobia, vice president of Beehive.
