NAFCU Launches 'Agenda Builder'
ARLINGTON, Va.-NAFCU has launched its "agenda builder," an online feature that gives attendees of its 43rd Annual Conference & Exhibition an opportunity to make the most of their conference experience. The program helps credit union professionals customize their conference schedule to meet their individual needs. The meeting is scheduled for July 20-24 at the Navy Pier Chicago.

Community CU Taps Johnson For CEO Post
NASHVILLE, Tenn.-The $130-million US Community Credit Union has named Paul S. Johnson as its new CEO, replacing Cheryl Thompson who retired on Feb. 26 after 25 years of service.
Johnson had previously served as executive vice president, and has been with USCCU since 1997. Prior to joining the credit union, Johnson served as an NCUA examiner.
CDCUs Offered $1M In Matching Funds
NEW YORK-The National Federation of Community Development CUs is making an additional $1 million in secondary capital available as matching funds for member CUs not immediately eligible for a Treasury Department program that provides funds that can be used toward regulatory net worth. Treasury's Community Development Capital Initiative (CDCI) allows low-income CUs certified as Community Development Financial Institutions to obtain up to 3.5% of their assets as secondary capital, which will count toward their regulatory net worth. The Federation noted that highly rated CUs that are well capitalized are expected to qualify readily, in the absence of material negative trends. Credit unions that fall below that standard may still qualify for funds if they are able to obtain matching secondary capital from non-governmental sources, thus the new program from the Federation.
Author Jim Collins Keynotes Meeting
MADISON, Wis.-Jim Collins, author of "Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap...and Others Don't," will keynote The 1 Credit Union Conference. The event, a joint effort between World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) and Credit Union National Association (CUNA), will convene July 11-14 at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.
WYCUP Celebrates 10th Anniversary
MADISON, Wis.-This year marks the 10th anniversary of the World Council of Credit Unions' Young Credit Union People (WYCUP) Scholarship Program. Over that time more than 400 young CU professionals and volunteers have been a part of the program. To apply for a WYCUP scholarship, open to anyone under age 35, nominations must be received by WOCCU by June 7.
