Bob Foster Joins NCUA
ALEXANDRIA, Va.–U.S. Treasury Deputy Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs (Banking & Finance) Robert U. Foster, III has joined NCUA as Deputy Director of the Office of Public & Congressional Affairs.
Foster will work with Director of Public and Congressional Affairs John McKechnie in advancing NCUA’s legislative agenda on Capitol Hill and serving as a liaison for the agency on a variety of Congressional issues.
Foster joins NCUA following 19 years of government service and a stint in private industry, most notably heading up the staff of the House Financial Services Committee under Committee Chairman Michael Oxley, working on the Sarbanes Oxley Act, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
State Employees Featured In Ads
RALEIGH, N.C.–SECU has once again teamed with the North Carolina Office of State Personnel and various state agencies to sponsor a statewide radio message campaign promoting state employees and the valuable services they provide to the citizens of North Carolina.
The radio messages, part of a “What’s In It For You” (WIIFY) Image Campaign that began in 2001, aired in conjunction with conjunction with State Employees’ Recognition Week.
The 2008 radio campaign spotlights five employees along with their agencies/departments. During the radio spots, the featured employees introduce themselves and comment on the services provided by the agency or department they represent.
The sports also promote the WIIFY website at www.whatsinitforyou.org, which contains links to state agencies and job listings, as well as information about services offered to state employees.
Congress Honors Century Of CUs
WASHINGTON–A House resolution recognizing the 100-year anniversary of the establishment of St. Mary’s Cooperative Credit Association, and thus the birth of the American credit union movement, was introduced by U.S. Reps. Carol Shea-Porter (D-NH) and Paul Hodes (D-NH).
The resolution was sought by NAFCU in anticipation of the launch of its centennial celebration beginning with a kick-off at American’s Credit Union Museum, which is located at the site of St. Mary’s first branch.
