Tower FCU's Cindy Scott Dies
LAUREL, Md.-Cyndy Scott, SVP-marketing for Tower FCU, has died at the age of 66 after a brief illness. Scott worked in marketing and sales for most of her 40-year career, serving Tower for the past 13 years. Scott was a 2012 Paul Revere Award winner from NAFCU.
CU*Answers Posts Winning Videos
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-CU*Answers has announced the winners of its 6th annual video contests. Honors were handed out for Best Video Idea (Patty Sarne, San Antonio Citizens FCU), Best 30-Second Spot Idea (Bill Holden, San Antonio Citizens FCU), and Best Completed Video (tie-Brandt Becker, Community West CU and Chuck Papenfus, Inland Valley FCU). Changes In The Corner Office
READING, Penn.-Cordy Kemmerer has been named CEO of CTCE FCU, replacing Glenn Potteiger, who has retired. Also retiring is CFO Jerry Winchester. Kevin Wigoda has been named as the new CFO. In Raleigh, N.C., Ben Hill has retired as CEO of Blue Flame CU after 38 years with the credit union, the last 23 as CEO. In Glendale, Calif., Ehab Nawar has been named president/CEO of $65 million Glendale FCU. Nawar had been serving as interim CEO. In St. Paul, Minn., Hiway FCU has named Dave Boden as its new CEO upon the retirement of Jeff Schwalen, who will retire as CEO in October. Boden is HFCU's VP-technology/CIO. And in Manchester, N.H., Bruce Leighton has been named CEO at $145 million Members First CU. Leighton was previously with St. Mary's Bank.
RBFCU A 'Best Place to Work'
LIVE OAK, Texas-Randolph-Brooks FCU has been ranked among the "Best Places to Work" in San Antonio by the San Antonio Business Journal. The recognition is based on employee responses to confidential and anonymous surveys. RBFCU ranked #11 among "Large Companies" and was one of two credit unions ranked on the list.
Two CUs Change Their Names
BOISE, Idaho-Connections CU is the new name for the $131 million-asset institution formed by the merger between $69 million Potelco United CU in Pocatello and $61 million Idaho Advantage CU. Brian Osberg is CEO. In Grandville, Mich., First United FCU has moved to a state charter and changed its name to First United CU. It formed in 1937 as Kelvinator Employees CU.
CUAD Recognizes Three People
BISMARCK, N.H.-The Credit Union Association of the Dakotas (CUAD) has inducted three people into the CUAD Hall of Fame: Marvel Ebenhahn, president/CEO Community CU of New Rockford, N.D.; Patty Pretzer, former Marketing VP Town & Country CU of Minot, N.D.; and Dick Schmidt, a board member at Service First FCU of Sioux Falls, S.D.

More Mergers Are Announced
MANSFIELD, Texas-The $57 million Security One FCU in Arlington, Texas is being absorbed via merger by the $760 million Texas Trust CU. In Kearns, Utah, the $6 million Newspaper Employees CU is merging into American United Family of CUs FCU. In Madison, Wis., Heartland CU is picking up a new branch with the Aug. 1 merger of $23 million Kilowatt CU, while Arnold, Mo.-based Arsenal CU is absorbing $8 million Southern Illinois Area CU.
