PCUF Board OKs 2008 Budget
HARRISBURG, Penn.-The Pennsylvania Credit Union Foundation Board approved a 2008 budget projecting $200,000 in fundraising and $125,000 in grants during its year-end board.
The board also approved a new grant program titled "Strategic Planning/Marketing" to assist credit unions of less than $5 million.
Since last July, the foundation has approved 20 grants totaling $78,196.
40-Year CU Volunteer Retires
GLENDALE, Calif.-After serving as a volunteer with California Credit Union (CCU) for more than 40 years, Dr. Clifford Allen has retired. Allen joined the CCU Supervisory Committee in 1967, and in 1973 moved to the board, including a term as chairman. The $1.3-billion California CU has named Dr. Allen as a Director Emeritus.
Midwest Management Meeting Set
NORTHVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich.-The Midwest Management Issues Conference is now set for the Hyatt Regency in Savannah, Ga. from Jan. 13-16. The conference is sponsored annually by the leagues in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin. Presenters will include Tom Glatt of Continental FCU, Ron Galloway, filmmaker and producer of the documentary "Why Wal-Mart Works," and Dan Mulhern, husband of Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm.

KewPoint Wins Best Of The Web
SANTA CLARA, Calif.-KeyPoint Credit Union has won the Best of the Web Award from the Online Banking Report for its Facebook Banking Application developed in tandem with MShift.
The system provides secure, one-click access to online banking account information from within the social networking site Facebook has even won the credit union an Internet award.
KeyPoint worked with MShift to develop the application using the Facebook API and the MShift Mobile Banking engine for Facebook users who are also members of KeyPoint Credit Union.
It provides immediate one-click access to account balance information as well as access to relevant and timely information from and about KeyPoint Credit Union. It also provides a social forum for KeyPoint Credit Union members to socialize.
Account access is very secure, all account information data is encrypted with a minimum of 128 bits, and no user data is stored on the Facebook servers.
