SLFCU CEO On Fed Council
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.–Christopher T. Jillson, CEO of Sandia Laboratory FCU, has been named to the Federal Reserve Board’s 12-member Thrift Institutions Advisory Council (TIAC).
TIAC meets with Fed governors on economic and regulatory issues surrounding credit unions, savings banks, savings and loan institutions, the housing industry and mortgage finance.

CU Changes Name To CapCom
LANSING, Mich.–Capital Community Credit Union has changed its name to CapCom Credit Union. The credit union had been operating as Capital Community Credit Union/LSI Financial following a 2004 merger with LSI Financial, Grand Rapids, Mich. The credit union said the former name was simply too long. It also has launched a website at www.capcomcu.com.
New Name, Logo For riverset CU
PITTSBURGH–Pittsburgh Teachers Credit Union has changed its name to riverset credit union. “The name riverset is symbolic of the credit union’s 75-year heritage and is representative of the more than 60 companies and organizations that comprise the credit union’s membership,” the CU said. It has also changed its branding “employs a natural color scheme that has an inviting, organic feel.” It said all of its advertisements will also feature “green” tips with the purpose of raising awareness amongst its membership of environmental issues, especially as they relate to fiscal concerns.
AFI Offers $19M In Matching Grants
WASHINGTON–Assets for Independence (AFI), a program of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Community Services, has announced $19 million in matching grants available for organizations that wish to start or expand Individual Development Account (IDA) programs, and has established two application deadlines: Jan. 15, and March 25.
The National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions is working with AFI to provide technical assistance to all prospective grantees.
