1st Advantage FCU, Newport News, Va., held its 9th annual 1st AIDE (Assistance, Inspiration, Dedication, and Experience) Day, including assembling and donating 23 bicycles to the Boys and Girls Club of the Virginia Peninsula, plus other donations and good works.

28 tons of help

For the third year in a row, Southeastern CU, Valdosta, Ga., participated in the Fill-a-Truck for Hunger challenge. More than 56,000 lbs. of food was collected, more than double last year’s effort, and the CU donated funds to purchase a second truckload of food for local food bank and food drive beneficiary Second Harvest of South Georgia. The CU also bought breakfast for more than 160 vehicles in the Chick-fil-A North Valdosta drive-thru as a pay-it-forward.

Lace ‘em up for the cure

A team of 40 dedicated team members from TDECU, Lake Jackson, Texas, organized by Keva Jones, once again laced up their running shoes in support of Houston’s 2016 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Series. TDECU also supported the Houston Food Bank.

Lending a hand to Habitat

The Paul Bunyan Chapter of the Michigan CU League brought together several area credit unions to help Habitat for Humanity in Ludington Mich. Volunteers from 4 Front CU, Forest Area FCU, NW Consumers CU and Safe Harbor CU moved furniture, appliances, unwanted items and trash out of a home to prepare it for renovations.
