Del-One gives back to vets

In Dover, Del., Del-One FCU’s Del-One Foundation began its yearly Give Back campaign by donating $2,000 to the Delaware Veteran’s Trust Fund, a non-profit that provides financial assistance or grants to assist Delaware veterans with health care requirements, housing assistance including utilities, and education or training programs.

Advantage One and Movers for Military

Advantage One CU, Brownstown, Mich., participated in Movers for Military, a fundraiser organized by Two Men and a Truck and Kroger. Members and employees donated non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, and/or personal hygiene items. AOCU advertised for the fundraiser via social media and provided drop-off locations at each of its branches.

Donation honors retired board member

Scott CU, Edwardsville, Ill., donated $250 to help military families staying at the Fisher House in St. Louis. The donation was made in honor of Carolyn Choate, a longtime director who retired recently from the CU’s volunteer board.

TDECU's food drive

All branches of Lake Jackson, Texas-based TDECU throughout the Texas Gulf Coast, Greater Houston, Texas Crossroads and Dallas/Fort Worth regions participated in the CU’s annual food drive. In total, the effort collected more than 5,500 items to support local organizations helping families and individuals in need.

Veridian gives back

Central Iowans cast 20,600 votes and picked three local non-profit organizations to receive $8,500 in donations from Waterloo, Iowa-based Veridian CU’s Spark the Spirit giving campaign. The Animal Rescue League of Iowa received 9,090 votes and the campaign’s top donation of $5,000. Meals from the Heartland received $2,500 with 8,562 votes, and Youth Emergency Services & Shelter received 808 votes and $1,000.

Envision CU, Tallahassee, Fla., donated $10,000 to America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend’s Backpack Program. Envision’s Swipe for Schools year-long initiative contributes five cents to Second Harvest’s Backpack Program with each swipe of an Envision debit card.

Flood restoration donation

Great Lakes CU, Bannockburn, Ill., donated $3,000 to rebuild the Richard A. Welton Plaza in Gurnee. The plaza was damaged by floods, and the donation will restore the site.
