Chartway fulfills its 'Promises'
Virginia, Beach, Va.-based Chartway FCU’s We Promise Foundation hosted two events to raise funds for children facing medical hardship or illness. The 12th Annual Diamonds in the Sky Gala and 19th Annual Charity Golf Classic raised $710,000 for We Promise heroes.
Hurricane help is on the way
Houston-based JSC Federal Credit Union donated $100,000 to the United Way’s Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. The donation helped families in the areas that were impacted the most.
Recognizing those who serve
More than two dozen volunteers from Altura CU, Riverside, Calif., joined with other local business and community partners to honor and recognize local military personnel for their extraordinary service at the 45th Annual Military Appreciation Picnic at March Air Reserve Base. Tina Covington, Altura’s VP of business development was sworn in as an honorary commander.
Freedom helps expectant mothers
MedStar Health in Bel Air, Md., has a new, state-of the-art patient chair for expectant mothers at risk thanks to a partnership with Freedom FCU. A dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony was conducted at MedStar to recognize Freedom’s support of its Maternal Fetal Medicine Center.
Veridian shreds
Waterloo, Iowa-based Veridian CU hosted two free Community Shred Days at five branches across the state. Approximately 2,800 Iowans protected their identities by shredding 69,643 pounds of unwanted, sensitive documents thanks to Onsite Information Destruction.
Real Men Wear Pink
Neighbors FCU, Baton Rouge, La., participated in the American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign at all branches for the third consecutive year.

Orion FCU's newest branch
Memphis, Tenn.-based Orion FCU opened a branch in the city’s medical district, rehabilitating the site of an abandoned gas station based on its commitment to impact the community. The branch earned Silver certification through the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design green building program.
Hit the ground running
Landings CU, Tempe, Ariz., joined forces with Reebok at Phoenix Premium Outlets, San Tan Ford and Precision Fleet Services to donate 238 pairs of new shoes and more than 200 pairs of socks to help children at Frank Elementary School.
Greater Texas gives to CUAid
Greater Texas CU, Austin, Texas, donated $5,000 to CUAid, the National Credit Union Foundation’s disaster relief system, to assist credit union people affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
