Prodigy Services Co., the on-line computer service, have entered a marketing arrangement. Prodigy users can receive 10 free hours by paying for the service with a MasterCard rather than by check. Prodigy subscribers can switch by using the "jump payment" option on the network or by completing a form on the back of their bills. The offer is good through Dec. 31. Wendy Reveri, director of relationship marketing for Prodigy, said it will allow Prodigy to be more efficient. Fred Gore, senior vice president for U.S. acceptance at MasterCard, said the arrangement is an example of how MasterCard continues to explore new acceptance categories, Prodigy is a partnership of IBM Corp. and Sears, Roebuck & Co.
