Since taking over NCR in 2005, Mr. Nuti has revamped the Dayton, Ohio, automated teller machine company. One of his most notable moves was spinning off its Teradata data warehousing unit in September.

Mr. Nuti has also put the company's focus on ATMs and other self-serve payments devices, including checkout systems for retailers and the automated check-in kiosks used by hotels and airlines.

NCR announced Tuesday that Continental Airlines Inc. is using its kiosks at 13 airports in seven countries in South and Central America and the Caribbean.

The kiosks feature a passport reader for international travelers and use a common interface, which enables multiple airline applications to run on a single machine.
