Bohai Bank of China has become the first company to sign up for a risk management application from Misys PLC of London.
Misys announced Wednesday that Bohai has installed the Opics Risk Plus software at its headquarters in Tianjin and plans to use it at other locations in the future as part of its efforts to expand throughout China.
Bohai began using a Misys trading life cycle processing application, Misys Opics, in May of last year. The new software is designed to improve portfolio risk management and reduce treasury costs by providing more accurate valuations of holdings within a company's portfolio.
Liu Zheng Quan, Bohai's chief information officer, said in a Misys press release that the Misys software "will enable us to evaluate risk in real time, so our customers can be sure we are handling trades with care."
