A subsidiary of the American Bankers Association is offering a prepaid MasterCard Inc. program for community banks that want to issue cards.
Business Solutions said Wednesday that smaller banks will be able to offer a variety of prepaid cards through the program, including payroll and gift cards.
"This is a real opportunity for banks to expand their revenue by reaching out to members of the underbanked community," William Kroll, the president of Business Solutions, said in a press release.
