PricewaterhouseCoopers, created by the July 1 merger of Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand, named Raymond A. Ranelli to lead its financial advisory services business and 17 senior officials under him.
Mr. Ranelli was vice chairman for the Americas at the counterpart Coopers group.
Joe D'Amico was designated the Americas leader of the business, Philip Wright the Europe leader, and David Smithers the Asia-Pacific leader. Mr. D'Amico was head of Coopers' FAS practice in New York. Mr. Wright led Price's shareholder services practice from the United Kingdom.
Philip Clements will lead the valuation and shareholder-value business, with Mr. Wright in charge for Europe and Gerry Creagh for the Americas. Mr. Clements had been head of Coopers' U.S. corporate finance practice, and Mr. Creagh had led its valuation services in New York.
Aidan Birkett will lead business recovery services, seconded by Dom DiNapoli for the Americas and Alan Jamieson for Europe. Mr. Birkett and Mr. DiNapoli worked for Coopers, Mr. Birkett heading its U.K. practice in transaction support and reorganization services, Mr. DiNapoli its business reorganization services in the United States. Mr. Jamieson was Price's Europe leader for business regeneration.
Craig Jacobsen will head the dispute analysis and investigations practice, backed up by Michael Gagnon for the Americas and Jonathan Phillips for Europe. Mr. Jacobsen led litigation for the U.S. financial advisory services practice at Coopers. Mr. Gagnon and Mr. Phillips both worked for Price- the former as the U.S. leader of financial advisory services, the latter as dispute analysis leader in Europe.
Anthony Browne will lead mergers and acquisitions; he had headed Price's entire financial advisory services practice. Lior Samuelson, who will lead the Americas group, was U.S. chief operating officer of Coopers & Lybrand Securities. Hugh Brown, in charge of the Europe group, was Coopers' M&A leader in the United Kingdom.
Tony Poulter was named to lead project finance and privatization; he had led Price's project finance practice. Russell Goodman, the Americas group leader, headed Price's financial advisory services in Canada. Nick Parker, named Europe group leader, had been based in the U.K. as head of international and capital projects for Coopers.
