ACI Worldwide Inc. is entering the market for mobile cash management services.
Bruce Parker, vice president of strategic planning at the New York vendor of payment software, said the company would offer features from its ACI Enterprise Banker online cash management system through a partnership announced last week with the mobile-technology vendor mFoundry Inc.
"We were getting pull-through from our customers that we needed to extend Enterprise Banker to the mobile platform," Mr. Parker said. He was unsure of the rollout's timing, but said it would take "weeks, not months," to begin testing it.
Though the initial focus is to enable corporate finance officers to authorize wire transfers or payrolls from their mobile devices, he emphasized that this was a "first announcement" and the company plans to add to its capability, including retail mobile banking.
ACI, a maker of heavy-duty payment systems for automated clearing house transactions, wire transfers, and card payments, bought P&H Solutions Inc. in Newton, Mass., in October 2006 to supply cash management systems for corporate banking.
