The city of Austin has extended its electronic billing services contract with Alliance Data Systems Corp.

The Dallas payment technology vendor announced the multiyear contract Thursday, but did not give a value.
Austin operates its own local utility, offering electricity, water, and waste-water services to more than 420,000 residential and commercial customers, and is the 10th-largest electric provider among U.S. cities.
Alliance Data will continue to handle Austin's customer information services, including printing and delivering bills, electronic presentment and payment, and customer service. Austin has been a client since 1998.
