Alliance Data Renews Partnership with Crate & Barrel

The retail services business of Alliance Data Systems (ADS) has signed a long-term agreement to continue providing the private-label credit card program for home furnishings retailer Crate & Barrel.

Alliance Data said Thursday that it will provide to Crate & Barrel new card issuance and ongoing marketing programs targeted at cardholders.

The privately held Crate & Barrel in Northbrook, Ill., has retail operations in the U.S. and Canada and includes the brands CB2, a modern home furnishings store, and The Land of Nod, which specializes in children's furniture and toys. This year Crate & Barrel, working with Alliance Data, introduced a rewards-based credit card that allows customers to earn rewards across all three brands.

"As the economy continues to improve, we know consumers are spending more on home furnishings and accessories — seeking new styles, colors and designs for their homes. Our goal is to help Crate & Barrel be that destination of choice for their cardholders," Melisa Miller, president of Alliance Data Retail Services, said in a news release. "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to help expand the Crate & Barrel brand by delivering a marketing-driven credit and loyalty solution we're confident will help bring their cardholders back to their stores again and again, growing their business for years to come."

Alliance Data has worked with Crate & Barrel since 1992. The Dallas company has recently announced a string of acquisitions and other agreements. Last month, Alliance Data said it had signed an agreement to provide co-branded credit card services to resort developer Westgate Resorts in Orlando, Fla., and that it would take over the private-label credit card program and buy the credit card accounts from retailer Talbots.
