Amazon Cuts Rival's Payment Method

Amazon.com Inc. has stopped accepting eBay Inc.'s Bill Me Later as a payment method for its e-commerce site.

Amazon bought a small stake in Bill Me Later in 2007 and promoted the payment method heavily on its site; eBay, an Amazon rival, bought Bill Me Later in November.

Amazon.com told users of its site Monday that it would stop accepting Bill Me Later as a payment option, according to a report on the e-commerce news site AuctionBytes.com. Bill Me Later told AuctionBytes that it was removed as a payment option because of the change in ownership.

By Wednesday, Bill Me Later had been deleted from the accepted payment methods Amazon lists on its Web site.
