M. List Underwood Jr., has joined Amsouth Bancorp. in Birmingham, Ala., as executive vice president and chief financial officer for the bank holding company and its principal subsidiary, Amsouth Bank.
Mr. Underwood had been senior vice president and treasurer of First Tennessee National Corp., a Memphis-based bank holding company.
As chief financial officer for Amsouth, Mr. Underwood will have responsibility for the accounting, investor relations, legal, properties, and risk management functions.
In addition, the investment portfolio and funds management areas will report to him.
