Aquesta Financial Services in Cornelius, N.C., has acquired an insurance portfolio from James E. Moore Agency in Wilmington, N.C.
The $271 million-asset Aquesta said in a press release Thursday that its insurance unit bought the portfolio. The amount was not disclosed. The purchase includes the employment of Alex Squires and Dana Sutton, along with their associated accounts in around the North Carolina communities of Hampstead and Wilmington markets.
"We are very excited to be adding a high quality, customer-service-oriented insurance agent and staff to our growing book of business," Aquesta Insurance President Denis Bilodeau said in the release. Squires "brings an unparalleled level of expertise regarding flood, wind and associated risks that are so very relevant to that market."
Aquesta recently bought a site where it plans to build its first Wilmington branch.
