Bank of America Exec Joins TSYS Unit

TSYS Acquiring Solutions, a Tempe, Ariz., unit of Total System Services Inc., has hired a Bank of America Corp. executive, David E. Wood, as its chief operating officer.

Mr. Wood has been a senior executive at B of A for the last 15 years, most recently as senior vice president and merchants operations executive for a Louisville unit, BA Merchant Services, which TSYS called the second-largest merchant acquirer in the United States. (Chase Paymentech Solutions LLC, a joint venture of JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.'s First Data Corp., is the largest.)

As the chief operating officer at TSYS Acquiring Solutions, Mr. Wood will report to the unit's president, Robert J. Philbin.

In a press release, Mr. Philbin praised Mr. Wood's "proven industry expertise in multiple operational environments" and "his strong leadership capabilities." Mr. Wood will contribute to the unit's priorities of "strengthening our core business and achieving operational excellence."
