Bank of New York Mellon Picks New Wealth Chief

Bank of New York Mellon Corp. named Lawrence Hughes chief executive of BNY Mellon Wealth Management. He succeeds David Lamere, who is leaving the company.

Hughes had been in charge of client service and sales within BNY Mellon Wealth Management's U.S. operations. He joined Mellon Financial — which merged with the Bank of New York in 2007 to form Bank of New York Mellon — nearly 20 years ago.

BNY Mellon Wealth Management manages about $157 billion.
