Bank of the James in Virginia Joins Nasdaq Exchange

Bank of the James Financial Group Inc. in Lynchburg, Va., said that its common stock began trading on the Nasdaq Capital Market exchange on Wednesday.

Robert Chapman 3rd, the company's president and chief executive, said in a Tuesday press release that moving to the Nasdaq offers investors the potential for increased trading liquidity and access to the stock. "This new listing is an example of our commitment to enhancing shareholder value and building the company's visibility throughout the investing community," he added.

The $429.3 million-asset company has 10 branches, a mortgage origination office and an investment services division.
