BankBoston Corp. has named Karen B. Green head of its newly created strategic marketing unit.
Ms. Green will be responsible for market research and domestic and international branding strategies. She will report to president and chief operating officer Henrique de Campos Meirelles.
She will remain director of consumer marketing for New England, reporting to Thomas J. Hollister, BankBoston's executive vice president and director of consumer and small-business banking.
Ms. Green worked for BayBanks Inc., which merged last year with Bank of Boston Corp. to form BankBoston Corp. Earlier she was an advertising executive with Ogilvy & Mather.
