BB&T Insurance Services in Raleigh, N.C., has added supplemental unemployment insurance to its online product offerings.

Under the program, customers receive 50% of their former earnings if they are laid off through a combination of state coverage and IncomeAssure benefits, BB&T Insurance, a unit of BB&T (BBT) in Winston-Salem, N.C., said Tuesday.
Rates and benefits are customized to an individual's circumstances and vary by state, and industry. Monthly costs start at $10 and, on average, premiums are roughly 1% of annual income.
IncomeAssure is provided by Assura Group and underwritten by Great American Insurance.
