The financial vendor Fidelity National Information Services Inc. announced Wednesday that it had completed the conversion of 1.1 million credit card accounts for the issuer BB&T Corp.
The Jacksonville, Fla., vendor said the conversion project took 10 months.
When Fidelity announced its deal with the Winston-Salem, N.C., company's BB&T Bankcard Corp. unit in September 2006, the vendor said it validated 2006 merger with Certegy Inc., which was aimed in part at boosting cross-sales.
BB&T already was a client of Fidelity's mortgage processing and consumer lending services. It previously had used Total System Services Inc. to process its credit card accounts.
