The Spanish banking company Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA has begun testing a personal finance tool on its Web site, the vendor Strands Inc. says.
The tool, BBVA Tú cuentas (the Spanish words for "You count"), was started last week in a private beta test, with features including transaction categorization, budgeting, and account alerts. The tool also lets customers compare their finances to other similar customers, and it has a recommendation feature to make personalized suggestions in the form of consumer tips and financial products and services, Strands said in a Web site blog.
The tool can also be used on the browsers of mobile devices, including Blackberry, iPhone, and Nokia handsets, the vendor said. The $783 billion-asset BBVA plans to use the product to help it understand its customers' financial behavior, Strands said.
The Corvallis, Ore., vendor develops business, personal finance, and social media software.
