Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA plans to use Finacle software from Infosys Technologies Ltd. for its core deposit accounting needs as part of a technology upgrade.
Infosys said Wednesday that the $756 billion-asset BBVA also will use the software for customer relationship management, treasury, and wealth management.
BBVA said it wants to become more client focused, accelerate growth, and develop and introduce to the market more quickly new products and services.
"We need to think of different approaches to customers, and IT is a key element in our innovative business model," Francisco Gonzalez, BBVA's chairman and chief executive, said in an Infosys press release.
