BMO Harris Opens Atlanta Office, Puts I-Banker in Charge

BMO Harris Bank in Chicago is opening a corporate banking office in Atlanta as part of its expansion outside the Midwest.

It has named an investment banker, Todd Giles, to head the new office. He will focus on midsize companies in metropolitan Atlanta and food and consumer businesses throughout the Southeast, the unit of BMO Financial Group in Toronto said Wednesday.

The move complements the wealth management presence that it has in the area through its wealth advisory service, Cedar Street Advisors, BMO Harris said.

BMO Harris recently opened new dealership finance offices in Florida and Virginia and a new equipment finance office in Texas.

Giles has more than 13 years of experience in corporate and investment banking. He was previously at JPMorgan Securities and Madison Capital Funding. He has been with BMO Financial since 2005, most recently as a director at BMO Capital Markets where he focused on origination, mergers and acquisitions, debt capital markets and equity capital markets transactions for midsize companies.

BMO has more than 650 branches in six Midwestern states and in Nevada, Arizona and Florida.
