Broker Lobby Group is Still Struggling

According to a newly obtained tax filing from the National Association of Mortgage Brokers, the trade group lost $1.4 million in its last fiscal year, though it was a smaller loss than the previous year.

The trade group's membership has dropped with the number of loan brokers dwindling. Other trade groups — including the National Association of Mortgage Professionals — are trying to recruit its surviving members.

The Mortgage Bankers Association, which also lost money in its last fiscal year, last week decided to sell its Washington headquarters.
