Bankers Trust New York Corp. is expanding its team of relationship managers marketing retirement services.

The banking company is focusing on defined-contribution retirement plans, such as 401(k) programs that let employees set aside a fixed sum in a tax-deferred account and direct the investment on their own. Bankers Trust, which wants to help manage the investment funds and provide brokerage services, plans to increase its sales staff in the area from 20 to 25, a bank spokesman said.
