Bulgarian Bank Uses Gamification to Teach Customers Financial Literacy

Bulgaria's DSK Bank has launched a new mobile app that uses gamification to boost customer engagement.

The DSK Gameo app, developed by software company Misys, incentivizes customers to learn about bank products and set and meet financial goals with points that can be redeemed for prizes including tickets to concerts and sports events. DSK is the first bank to debut Misys' BankFusion Gameo platform, according to a Tuesday press release.

"In order to differentiate DSK Bank and capture market share, we decided to develop a gamification application," Diana Miteva, DSK's executive director for retail banking, said in the release. "When Misys approached us with the proof of concept for BankFusion Gameo, we were particularly excited."
