Calif.'s Provident Joins Allpoint Network

Provident Savings Bank has signed on to Cardtronics Inc.'s surcharge-free automated teller machine network, Allpoint.

Provident, a unit of Provident Financial Holdings Inc. in Riverside, Calif., has 14 ATMs, according to its Web site. Through Allpoint, the banking company's customers now have access to an additional 37,000 machines, including 4,500 in California, the Houston ATM operator said Monday.

The arrangement "allows us to provide more ATM convenience for our customers than the bigger banks and proves bigger is not always better," Kathryn Gonzales, Provident Savings' senior vice president of retail banking, said in a Cardtronics press release.
