Canopy Financial Inc., a San Francisco provider of accounting systems for health savings accounts and other consumer-directed health care tools, said Wednesday that it is planning to offer its mobile software to users of Apple Inc.'s iPhone and iPod Touch devices.
The application, which will be available Monday on Apple's iPhone App Store, enables consumers to search through various medical procedures using keywords to determine if they can be paid with tax-advantaged spending accounts, including HSAs, health reimbursement accounts and flexible spending accounts, Canopy said.
In addition, the application shows the locations of local health care providers and lists the typical cost of various medical procedures and services, based on consumers' ZIP codes, the vendor said.
Canopy's financial customers include Wachovia Bank, Comerica Inc., Fifth Third Bancorp, and several health care providers.
