Card Briefs: Triton's Export Sales Win State Honors

Triton Systems Inc., the automated teller machine maker, was named 1999 Mississippi Exporter of the Year by the Mississippi District Export Council.

The export council selected Triton based on the dollar volume of export sales relative to its size, its marketing methods, and other criteria, according to Ernest Burdette, president of Triton.

Triton, which says it is the fifth-largest ATM manufacturer in the world, began a major effort in 1998 to place cash dispensers in nonbank locations. Its plan, which specifically targeted Canada and Latin America, brought export sales to $12 million in 1998 from $1 million in 1997.
