Matrixx Marketing Inc., Cincinnati Bell Inc.'s telephone call center subsidiary, said it has obtained a significant contract from American Express Europe.
The unit will assume "customer care" responsibilities for card members in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
Matrixx said the contract will create about 150 new jobs at its center in Newcastle, England.
Catherine Molloy, telemarketing manager at American Express Europe, said Matrixx was "extremely proactive" in anticipating her company's needs for measuring results and monitoring performance. "We are an extremely sophisticated purchaser of services," she said, "and at the end of a rigorous selection process, Matrixx emerged as the clear leader."
