The automated teller machine operator Cardtronics Inc. has named two directors to its board.
The Houston company said Tuesday that Tim Arnoult and Dennis Lynch were both elected last week to the board, and both have also become part of the company's audit committee and its nominating and governance committee. Mr. Arnoult is chairman of the latter committee.
Mr. Arnoult retired from Bank of America Corp. in 2007 after 27 years in various technology and payments positions with the Charlotte company, most recently as president of its global treasury services unit.
Mr. Lynch is the chairman and chief executive of RightPath Payments Inc., a Providence, R.I., provider of business-to-business electronic payments technology. From 1996 to 2004 he was the CEO of the debit network NYCE Corp., which was acquired in July 2004 by the banking technology company that was spun off from Marshall & Ilsley Corp. last year to become Metavante Technologies Inc.
With these additions, Cardtronics now has seven directors. The company went public last month.
Cardtronics also said Tuesday that its surcharge-free ATM network unit, Allpoint, now has 1,000 financial company members. Numerous banks have raised the fees they charge noncustomers to use their ATMs; Allpoint's founder and president Ben Psillas said in a press release that "consumer demand for convenient, surcharge-free ATM access will continue to rise."
