Carlile Bancshares to Combine Colorado Units

Carlile Bancshares plans to merge and rename its two Colorado banking units.

The Fort Worth, Texas, company plans to combine Colorado Community Bank in Yuma and the Bank at Broadmoor in Colorado Springs into a single charter and name it Northstar Bank of Colorado, the Denver Business Journal reported Tuesday. The merger will take effect Aug. 12, the report said. Calls to bank officials were not immediately returned.

Carlile Bancshares was founded in 2009 to acquire banks in Texas and other parts of the Southwest. It bought the $508 million-asset Colorado Community late last year, and bought the $195 million-asset Bank at Broadmoor in 2011.

Carlile is also the parent of the $1.1 billion-asset Northstar Bank of Texas in Denton, which it agreed to buy in February 2012.

The combined Colorado operations will have 20 locations.
