The New York banking technology provider CashEdge Inc. announced Thursday that it had hired a former E-Trade Financial Corp. executive, Thomas Roberts, to expand its marketing efforts to investment companies.

CashEdge said Mr. Roberts is now its senior vice president and general manager for brokerage and wealth management. He was E-Trade's vice president for corporate services.
The provider of online account funding and money transfer services said its clients include four of the top 10 online brokerages and more than 10 top-tier wealth management firms.
Mr. Roberts "will be instrumental in ensuring that CashEdge continues to build upon its leadership position," Sanjeev Dheer, its chief executive, said in a press release.
