CFPB Seeks Comments on Revised Reg E Plan

WASHINGTON — The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is seeking comments on whether and how to revise Regulation E, which governs implementation of the Electronic Fund Transfer Act.

Under the Dodd-Frank Act, authority over EFTA was transferred to the CFPB, which has been republishing regulations inherited from other agencies in an effort to see how they should be changed.

The CFPB's interim final rule is substantially similar to the original Regulation E, which was proposed and finalized by the Federal Reserve Board. Comments on the regulation are due Feb. 27.
