CFS Bancorp in Indiana Names New CEO, Chairman

CFS Bancorp Inc.'s chief executive and chairman, Thomas F. Prisby, will retire after almost 30 years with the company, and his responsibilities are being split between two replacements.

The $1.2 billion-asset company said Monday that Prisby will leave his posts on Dec. 30. Daryl D. Pomranke, president and chief operating officer, will take over as CEO and board member Robert R. Ross will become chairman for both the company and the bank, Citizens Financial Bank.

Prisby joined the Munster, Ind.-based bank in 1982, serving as president and COO from 1989 until being named chairman and CEO in 1996. He also assumed the same roles at the holding company when it was created in 1998. Prisby will remain as chairman emeritus of the bank until Dec. 31, 2013.

Pomranke will continue in his role of president of the bank and company. He joined CFS Bancorp in April 2007 as COO and was named president a year later. Prior to joining CFS Bancorp, Pomranke worked for BMO Harris Bank in Chicago and its predecessor, Mercantile National Bank of Indiana.

Ross has served on the company and bank's boards since 2004.
