Chain to Use Comdata in 1,400 Stores

CHS Inc., an energy, grains and food company, plans to use Comdata Corp.'s Smart Solutions point of sale systems at its 1,400 convenience stores nationwide that operate under the Cenex brand.

Comdata's service will enable CHS to consolidate convenience store, fuel and other operations into a single platform, the Brentwood, Tenn., processor said in a March 10 press release. The Smart Solutions service, which complies with the Payment Card Industry Payment Application Data Security Standard, integrates with multiple payment types, including the leading fleet cards, Comdata said.

"Comdata's rich experience in the industry helps it understand the challenges facing petroleum marketers, and Smart Solutions will allow marketers to consolidate equipment, reduce costs and improve operational efficiency," Rick Cummings, CHS vice president of refined fuels marketing, said in the release.
