CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- First Union Corp. said some of its automated teller machines in Florida have been out of service this week because of delays in a systems conversion.
First Union's Florida unit missed its Monday morning deadline for completing the move to its Emerald checking and savings deposit system. As a result, some of the 500 ATMs in its network were out of service at various times over the past few days, said William T. Morrison Jr., a senior vice president at the Florida bank.
He added that the job was completed Wednesday afternoon and First Union received an"insignificant" number of customer complaints.
