Citigroup Inc. said Thursday that it has hired Marty Lippert to be its chief information officer and corporate operations and technology chief operating officer.
Mr. Lippert was a Royal Bank of Canada vice chairman and the group head of global technology and operations. A spokeswoman said Thursday that he had left RBC but had not yet started at Citi.
He is to be responsible for overseeing Citi's corporate shared services and real estate operations and will join the New York banking company's senior leadership committee.
"Marty's appointment emphasizes the importance we place on technology in driving enterprise transformation, and we'll look to him to be a key architect of that change," Vikram Pandit, Citi's chief executive, said in a press release.
