Citicorp has launched China's first 24-hour automated teller machines in Shanghai, which provide cash in the local currency (Renminbi), transfer of funds between accounts and balance inquiries.
Citibank said it was the first foreign bank to receive approved from the People's Bank of China to provide the Renminbi ATM service in China.
Two ATMs provide a touch screen to take iustructions from customers in a choice of 10 languages, a feature Citibank said was not available on any other ATMs in China, which is imporrant because of the influx of travelers to Shanghai.
